oh Hooorrah's!

This Week, We shot a new exterior for Harrahs Casino in Las Vegas.  The Client wanted it shot from the same angle as their current Shot - however Oh wait, Now - there's an Enormous shopping mall there :)

Luckily, we were able to get on the roof of Caesars Palace Forum Shops (owned by Harrahs, aka the Nicest people on the planet :) & get this similar angle.  (some might say Better,.....but I'm just sayin')

We setup 2 cameras : one for the angle below & one to capture their marquee from further north & strip into this angle below.  Then! ran back and forth jumping over gas lines, air conditioning ducts, lights & misc pipes (that all tried to kill us at least once)

Other fabulous retouching/post - we enlarged the Tower 25% (the wide angle lense made it appear smaller than it actually is) & Added : additonal mountains, sky, blurred cars & Removed : Imperial Palace, Wynn, Palazzo & Venetian & clowns.

go Backstage : Jeremy Cornwell Project

We had an hour before their 6pm show {at Twin Creeks inside Silverton Hotel & Casino} to shoot!

Meanwhile, Jeremy & Michael kept us entertained humming along to everything on our Pandora jukebox!  We were eager to try out this intricate lighting setup on a group that has a crazy diverse style. 

Jeremy and keyboardist Michael Quarentello - who make up the Jeremy Cornwell Project — have finished recording the tracks for their first, self-released CD, “Blue Bonnet and the Louisiana Mockingbird.”  (give it some Luv, & download it)

They have a stripped-down sound with vocals, guitar and keyboard. Cornwell describes it as a mix of Hootie and the Blowfish, Stevie Wonder and the Fray, with a little Jason Mraz thrown in...... you'll love em'!

To us - it's local vibe in a bustling city, or just what we needed :)

at L'Auberge Del Mar just north of San Diego, Ca., where Chef Paul McCabe whips up a few wonders in the Kitchen (Kitchen 1540 that is!) We LOve Shooting his ever-changing Seasonal Menu's! 

Here's his Lemon Ricotta Pancakes, this really is a tough Job.

Get Swayed

Silverton Hotel & Casino get's Swanky! Thanks to Alison Victoria Gramenos, of Alison Victoria Interiors.  
We met Alison ,coincidentally, while building our live/work/studio by Blue Heron. 

She's always been on the edge of the curve, and this time she's taking US & Silveron Casino with her!  This is a concept that she created for the Pool this summer.

How a modern Mermaid Get's Around' on the Set? She was a sport for sure.  It took four of us to get her into the tail (& by four I mean - 4 holding the tail while she JUMPs off a counter into the tail - with Baby Powder & Pantyhose) ........... And the most tortured Talent 2010 goes to.......

Uncork'd In the KITCHEN

Uncork'd 2010 combined our first 2 loves : Good Grub & Photography.  


This year was our very First Uncork'd Las Vegas, which is to say the least a world class wine & food festival.  For 3 days, we got to Rub elbows with celebrity chefs such as Cat Cora, Bobby Flay, Wolfgang Puck, Charlie Palmer, Alain Ducasse, Guy Savoy, Bradley Ogden, Joël Robuchon, Kim Canteenwalla, Francois Payard and Kerry Simon and more from the Las Vegas restaurant scene!


We were also honored to photograph some History makers in the Kitchen for Caesars Palace, Las Vegas.  2 Days to setup, 2 Different shot's, Half hour with the Chefs.  Fewwwwee.  (Luckily, we were able to keep em' Laughin for a about an hour!)


This is the first time Frank Pellegrino Sr., Bradley Ogden, Wolfgang Puck, Bobby Flay, Guy Savoy & Francois Payard were all in the same room & photographed.  (That's pretty cool to us Foodies!)

What.....on Earth are they making? 

So, incase you want the recipe - that's 1 Heirloom tomato, a Filet Mignon (preferrably uncooked), Payard's famous chocolate Glaze (cooled & clumpy), just a few baby greens
& finished with 1 freshly cracked egg. Salt & Pepper as neccessary :)

The Set....half broken down....... just about missed it with all the excitement!

Matt Goss, another

Night that won't be forgotten, We are excited to shoot Matt Goss again this week!  We went to the show on Saturday night with some great friends, sat at the front table & even the boy's might have fallen in LOve!

       Mmmmm, mmmmh. Vanilla custard, Coconut sticky rice, Watermelon - Green Tea, & Chocolate pop rocks!! At Hachi Contemporay Japanese Restaurant, I think we ate more than we shot :) 
       Last month! We were one of the first to taste these whimsical creations of Chef Jaret Blinn, Executive Pastry Chef for Red Rock Resort. This month! We are Thrilled.....to have a 3 page spread called "Pastry Power House" (pg 70) featuring his Sushi Roll desserts! Yumm - me.

Rouse's gettin' Crabby

A Day with Crabs:  Those of you who have Spent Even 3 minutes with Rouse KNOW -
                                          Alaskan King Crab = Rouse weak at the knees :)
 We spent all day smelling over 10 lbs of gorgeous king crab for the New Ad for THE Buffet @ Aria inside City Center, Las Vegas.  Only to Throw it All away after shooting it above the Food & Health Adminitration's recommended Tempertures.  Tears :)

Goodmorning Neptune!

5:30am, FIVE THIRTY, What? Huh?  Zzzzzzzzzzzzz.

Ansel Adams was right when he spent all those early mornings waiting for the perfect light.  We spent this morning watching the sunrise (GORGEOUS by the way!)  but mostly waiting on the Sun to pop over the Caesars Monstrosity!  While we were waiting on Apollo to work his magic, - We downloaded the coolest iphone AP - "Hipstamatic" It shoots twisted photo's like this - an Ol' School Holga right in your hands.  Just in case, like me, you left the house at 5:30am without your Holga :)

Aria & Vdara Poolside

Hello Summertime,  we found ya! Hiding at the Aria & Vdara Pool's inside the Luxurious City Center, Las Vegas.  It was the week before daylight savings so we  had to get an early start chasing the sun :) and according to Jonathan - we needed 25 shots before lunch, uh yey, ok :)!  Well, we didn't know about all that but once everyone saw "the vision" haha, we we're on a roll.  Here are just a few of the shot's from the Pool Shoot with SK+G advertising.

Check out this article....



"Great photography sells hotels," IHG senior vice president Steve Sickel told the audience of some 2,000 owners of Holiday Inns, Crowne Plazas and other IHG-brand hotels two weeks ago during IHG's annual U.S. convention.
To prove his point, he displayed two photographs of Holiday Inn rooms on a massive screen:  one, a yellow-shaded, slightly blurry photograph; the other, a crisp, clean shot of the same room. It was clear which photograph would win more bookings.

We had the pleasure going up in a helicopter and shooting the exterior image of the Wynn and Encore towers nestled in the Las Vegas strip for the Regis and Kelly Vegas show this week. I got to go and watch the taping yesterday with the rest of the House Wives of Las Vegas. Pretty funny stuff.........lots of screaming and ooohing and aweing.
