client requests : minimal props & Styling, True Views - Just clean architecture.  Soo, We kept the chilled champagne [prop] all to ourselves this time :)

Meet about Meetings

It's true. if a meeting goes well, we'll go ahead & recap it ..... in annnnother meeting.  At the Surf & Sand Hotel in Laguna Beach, we'll meet about anything - all day.  Let's just meet there.

2010 has been the year of - Meeting spaces & Conference setups..... so by now, we LOVe em'.  

Not just photography - we did it all [from picking linens & place settings to arrangements & centerpieces.... that makes a plain meeting space - lots of awesome].

reStore, Revive and rePlenish @ the Bellagio Spa

We always promised the Crew One day. Someday. we'll all go to the spa, ALL together :)  Well, that day finally came.  

We've been honored to shoot for the Bellagio Hotel for the past few years.  This month, they asked us to update their Spa & Salon photography without any New renovations.  This space was gorgeous as is - it just needed a little updated photo-LoVe.

the Ritz Carlton Lake Tahoe

Knows how to treat it's guests, and even those photographer types.  Kinda Ashamed to even say this... bUT...The photos really don't do this property justice, ha ha.  It is spectacular.

Our crew had the sweet dreamy pleasure of spending 10 days experiencing hospitality at it's Best.....The Ritz Carlton way.
[of course, That being Champagne & strawberries everyday at 3pm - extra images...You got it :)]

We're so thrilled with the images! This was our first photo-shoot on the preferred Ritz Carlton Photographers list & we look forward to completing the winter portfolio [snow boarding] this year!

Clint decides that Annie needs help to see through the camera... his brilliant idea, taping blocks to her Feet.  His best Mr. fix it yet :)

Room with a View [....the Joys of electricity & Ocean]

After Nagging us to death, and the torturing of many a poor Client.  Rouse's dreams have finally come True [not the creepy hershey's chocolate bath one, the other one.] A Room with a View. 

It's not easy to convince a client to take a newly renovated room down to the Beach [...... only 5ft from the crashing waves of high tide].    Luckily, we Met the perfect client - the Surf & Sand in Laguna Beach.  This hotel is SOo close to the ocean that the waves actually HIT the hotel bar AND the rooms have complimentary earplugs.  [so while some people buy Soothing Ocean sounds on CD......... Other's Earplug.]  

We could not have done this without the unbelievable staff of S&S.  Taking 12 hotel staff members, a thrill-seeking PR director, the Sweetest Marketing manager and 3 Rouse's 6 hours to put together.

Nauseous about "What They Ate"

Robert Earl Wells IV will EAT anything.  Well, we already knew that [ask us about his Solo trip to Carls Jr. Circa 2006 = receipt totaling over $45].  Sooo, when we heard He was eating WeiRd things for a History Channel Pilot  - It seemed very fitting.  

"What They Ate" is a new "reality" type show airing on the History Channel this fall.  Rob will be eating the true mongolian warrior way thousands of years ago. What way is that? - by killing his own Food [sheeps head Eyeballs, raw Yak meat, & Blood Sausage] and serving it to his poor innocent family [in the backyard of their la Jolla Home].

Should be....interesting, and we Can't wait!

.....and Sweet lil Baby Girl

At only 5 days old, we photographed our sweet friends new {& the last of 4} Baby Girl.  Meet Ms. Siera Jade Brown.

We've been in some stressful situations - BUT a tiny 5 day old is lil scary [& fragile!]   Especially with a 25lb Hasselblad [& a tri-pod] directly above sleeping Siera.

You haven't seen a Rouse's heart race so Fast [since his first Sky Dive!].

Ménage à trois

Jonathan made me move my stuff out of the guest room closet....... 

It has been a long time in the making, but Jonathan and I are excited to welcome Kristie Christensen to our team. We have known her for almost 9 years and we have liked her for at least 5 of those years.

All kidding aside (not really), we are excited to have Kristie on board as our Director of Client services. Kerry [Simon's] Gourmet Burgers/KGB

The studio @ KGB, where we shot Food [ate food], architecture [very quickly] & our first "official" portraits of Kerry Simon [& not just because he's in uniform]....... and as you can imagine, we had a goooood time! .................................Surprising, I know :)

Last thursday, Celebrity Chef Kerry Simon opened KGB - [Kerry's Gourmet burger's] - a burger and vodka bar concept at Harrah's Las Vegas.  The Interior's got 1960’s Russian propaganda posters and thematic fixtures that create a killer [careful now] vibe.....don't think Kerry's gone communist on us!

Just a few temptations :[oh my goish] - Sweet Potato Tots, a crispy 4 Cheese Burger, waffle fry Nachos!, Vodka-infused hot Peppers, Thanksgiving Turkey burger and the Captain Crunch milkshake. [yummily pictured below]

Four & Five STAR, It's all in the Details

A few days a month, We're up to something that many of our Client's don't know about :)

...........................................................the DETAIL's.

These images are the essence of any Hotel.  Something that can't always be told with a wide architecture shot or a lifestyle campaign.  It's these tiny details in & around your Hotel that make it uniquely Your's.  

In one day :  We photographed these images (& more) for the Surf & Sand Resort, Laguna Beach.

oh Hooorrah's!

This Week, We shot a new exterior for Harrahs Casino in Las Vegas.  The Client wanted it shot from the same angle as their current Shot - however Oh wait, Now - there's an Enormous shopping mall there :)

Luckily, we were able to get on the roof of Caesars Palace Forum Shops (owned by Harrahs, aka the Nicest people on the planet :) & get this similar angle.  (some might say Better,.....but I'm just sayin')

We setup 2 cameras : one for the angle below & one to capture their marquee from further north & strip into this angle below.  Then! ran back and forth jumping over gas lines, air conditioning ducts, lights & misc pipes (that all tried to kill us at least once)

Other fabulous retouching/post - we enlarged the Tower 25% (the wide angle lense made it appear smaller than it actually is) & Added : additonal mountains, sky, blurred cars & Removed : Imperial Palace, Wynn, Palazzo & Venetian & clowns.

go Backstage : Jeremy Cornwell Project

We had an hour before their 6pm show {at Twin Creeks inside Silverton Hotel & Casino} to shoot!

Meanwhile, Jeremy & Michael kept us entertained humming along to everything on our Pandora jukebox!  We were eager to try out this intricate lighting setup on a group that has a crazy diverse style. 

Jeremy and keyboardist Michael Quarentello - who make up the Jeremy Cornwell Project — have finished recording the tracks for their first, self-released CD, “Blue Bonnet and the Louisiana Mockingbird.”  (give it some Luv, & download it)

They have a stripped-down sound with vocals, guitar and keyboard. Cornwell describes it as a mix of Hootie and the Blowfish, Stevie Wonder and the Fray, with a little Jason Mraz thrown in...... you'll love em'!

To us - it's local vibe in a bustling city, or just what we needed :)
